Junior WordPress Developer

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy WordPress websites from scratch or based on existing themes/templates.
- Customize themes and plugins to meet client requirements.
- Optimize WordPress sites for speed, performance and better search engine rankings.
- Ensure sites are secure by implementing best practices such as regular updates, backups, and security plugins (Word fence).
- Troubleshoot issues related to themes, plugins, or core WordPress functionality.
- Debug conflicts between different plugins or themes.
- Work closely with designers to translate designs into functional WordPress sites.
- Collaborate with other developers on code reviews and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with project managers to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Deploy changes from development environments to staging/production environments using tools like WP-CLI or FTP/SFTP clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of custom codebase for future reference.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updating core files, themes, and plugins.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in WordPress development technologies.
- Participate in training sessions or workshops to enhance skills.
Qualification
- Basic proficiency in WordPress, with a solid understanding of installing themes and plugins.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development.
- Basic knowledge of PHP and MySQL for customizing WordPress functionality.
- Experience using page builders like Elementor or WPBakery.
- Eagerness to learn and develop custom themes and plugins under guidance.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor WordPress issues and provide basic support.
- Understanding of responsive design principles for mobile-friendly websites.
- Basic knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimization.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and keeping up with new WordPress developments and trends.
- A strong sense of design, with a focus on creating user-friendly and intuitive experiences.
